What is Tae Kwon Do?

Tae Kwon Do is a Korean unarmed martial art.  It is not only kicking and punching, but a way of thinking and living.  The main goal of Tae Kwon Do is to achieve total mind and body control through training.  Literally, "Tae" means foot or kicking technique, "Kwon" means fist or hand technique, and "Do" means art or way of living.



School Creed


1.   High Moral Character -   Know what is right and what is wrong
2.   Self Discipline -   Ability to control yourself in any given situation
3.   Self Identity -   Know yourself and who you are
4.   Self Confidence -   Believe in and trust yourself.  Keep trying with a "Yes I Can" attitude
5.   Physical Fitness -   Keep your body healthy and strong



Ten Commandments of Tae Kwon Do


1.   Be loyal to your country.
2.   Have respect for justice and freedom.
3.   Be a good son or daughter to your parents.
4.   Be on good terms with your brothers and sisters.
5.   Be loyal to your friends
6.   Respect your Elders
7.   Respect and trust your teachers.
8.   Use good judgement before killing any living thing.
9.   Always finish what you start.
10.   Always do your best!
